Democrats to Green Atlanta on Earth Day
Democrats are getting together on Earth Day - Saturday, April 19th - to help green Atlanta with our friends at Trees Atlanta. Join Democrats Work, the Young Democrats of Georgia, and the Mid-Fulton Democrats (and a host of other great Democrats) for this great event. (Of course, those of you participating in the Congressional District Caucuses next Saturday have an excused absence. While you're putting our country on a better path inside, we'll be making a difference outside!) |

Democratic Alternative to Recent Republican Initiatives
To protect the health of all Georgians, Senators Robert Brown and Nan Grogan Orrock have sponsored the Georgia Medical Privacy Act, a proposed constitutional amendment to protect an individual’s right to make medical decisions. This amendment protects the rights of Georgians to make autonomous medical decisions without intrusive government interference and would protect an individual’s right to make informed medical decisions. "Government and politicians should not intrude on private, moral, and medical decisions, such as fertility treatments, contraception, abortion, end of life decisions and whether to accept or refuse medical care. Neither should they intrude on difficult end of life decisions currently permitted by family members regarding their loved ones," said Senator Brown. |
